If Candyman press the b button while the ball is out, it will call the ball back to him, he can then press the b button to release it again, after some added lag, at half of the previous speed If there are two candyman players in a match, both do the base amount regardless of who let out the ball first. Also, when other players hit the ball, it will do less damage and knockbavk compared to when cansyman hits the ball. When the ball is hit the color highlight around it will turn to the color player that hits it. Since the smash stages are far larger than lethal league ones, the ball will decrease in speed after a few seconds of not being touched to balance it out. The faster the ball goes, the more damage and knockback it will do, continually increasong after every hit eventually capping out at a point where the ball is going so fast you only see the after image. Candyman can only have one ball on the screen at a time and he or an opponent can hit the ball away, increasing its speed. The ball will bounce off of every surface in the game as well as the side blastzones, simulating the boxed in gameplay of lethal league. Neutral Special: Candyman will throw a ball in front of him in a short arch. It is a multihitting move that sends opponents up and kills at earlier percents. Up-air: Candyman does a scissor kick above him. This move will also have a sour spot that sends more upwards.īair: Candyman will swing his cane upwards sending the opponent upwards. This move will spike and also have a sour spot that send more outwards.ĭair: Candyman will swing his cane under him, spiking the opponent. This means he will swing his cane in front of him from his head to below him. This is a multihitting move that can combo into his other aerials.įair: Candyman will perform a spike. Nair: Candyman spins his cane in a circle. This will be his slowest smash attack but also his strongest. Up-Smash: Candyman will put his hands over his mouth and blow very hard, causing his head to rapidly inflate. This move will be very quick like his f-smash but wont have very strong knockback. This move will be a strong anti air and will be a kill option.ĭown-Smash: Candyman will do a split. His leg will be invincible durring the move. Up-tilt: Candyman will kick his leg straight up. The launch angle will allow for the beginning of strings.ĭown-tilt: Candyman will use his cane to sweep the opponents leg. This move will do good damage but wont have strong knockback. The move will still do equal damage and knockback even in the air.į-tilt: Candyman will spin his cane in front of him. During the charge-up of the move, if the button is held down, Candyman can jump and move in the air while in the charge animation. Jab: Candyman will have a single hit jab that pops opponents up for follow-ups.į-Smash: Candyman will swing his cane forward. Attributes: Candyman will have a very high first jump (about Falco's heigh) and a short double jump).

I miss the LEP when I wear trainers which don’t have it, like the Adistar. It also has a wide, stable base.Īn LEP (Linear Energy Push) plastic shank is on the midfoot of the outsole and it extends into the rearfoot and forefoot. There’s very little lean bias because the midsole doesn’t compress much and the deep heel cups your rearfoot. One of the Ultraboost 22’s strengths is how stable it is. I found it only useful for easy or recovery runs above 5.30 per kilometre so it’s a good shoe to stop you from running too fast. The only problem with Boost foam is that it’s heavy and dense so it limits the Ultraboost 22’s versatility. Transitions were smooth but slow and it was difficult to pick up the pace to run below 5.30 per kilometre but I enjoyed the first run of the Ultraboost 22 much more than the first run of the Adidas Adistar which I tested last month. It still wasn’t secure by any stretch of the imagination but it wasn’t as bad as the last version. The other difference that I noted was that the heel lockdown felt slightly better. It’s not the softest of all the Ultraboosts but it’s definitely not as firm as the Ultraboost 21. The biggest and most notable difference was that the Ultraboost 22 felt softer and more cushioned. There were some differences to the Ultraboost 21 which I picked up immediately. My first run was a 12 km easy run which was surprisingly enjoyable. The midsole and outsole looked exactly the same while there were subtle changes to the toe box and the eye stays upon closer inspection. The first time I saw pictures of the Ultraboost 22, I struggled to find any differences to the last version apart from the new colourways. The Ultraboost 22 also costs $10 more than the Ultraboost 21. It’s still considerably heavier than other max cushioned trainers like the Triumph 19 (290 g), the Invincible Run (285 g) and the Nimbus 24 (290 g). The men’s Ultraboost 22 now weighs 333 g (11.8 oz) for a US 9, which is 7 g (0.3 oz) lighter than the Ultraboost 21. The women’s version has extra outsole lugs on the medial side of the midfoot which makes it more supportive. Last year’s Ultraboost 21 was a massive update so this year, the men’s version is only an upper update but there are some small tweaks that change the ride character of the Ultraboost 22. As a performance running shoe, the Ultraboost 21 felt like a step backwards for the Ultraboost franchise. When I tested the Ultraboost 21 last year, I gave it one of the lowest scores of the entire year because of how firm it felt and how much heel slippage I experienced during runs. The Ultraboost may be regarded by many as a “lifestyle” running shoe but there’s no denying that its build quality is second to none and there are few other midsole foams that retain their cushioning as well as Boost. I always knew that the Ultraboost is a durable running shoe but 3 300 kilometres is unimaginable and about 3 times more than I’ve ever put on a single pair of running shoes. His toe box has a hole in the top and the outsole rubber has worn down in a few places but the midsole is still intact and he uses them regularly without getting any injuries. When a fast runner in my running club showed me his Ultraboost 4 which has over 3 300 kilometres on them, I gained a new respect for the Ultraboost. All those different players and different requirements keep things fresh for me. As for archetypes, as a community we have dedicated healers, tanks, space wizards, you name it - we’ve got them all. You’ve got people who love the mathematics, or people who want to do the highest damage possible, and then you also have people who build around a theme or game mechanic, or that have a favourite ship that they’d just like to do a little better in. One of the many things I like about the r/STOBuilds community is that it’s a melting pot. What makes building a starship in STO interesting? I just happened to have the free time to staple it together. Collating it was really the easy part, the hard part was the work put in by the community in getting the information in the first place. It just sort of snowballed from there - some of it being updates to our existing internal wiki articles, and some of it being “widely known” information that just hadn’t really been set down in any one place. At it happened, even that basic guide grew too large and was itself split into two parts. That meant I could make the guide part far more elementary, and the goal was instead that it would be a “one off” for potential use as the basis of a “real” article in our internal wiki. At the start, it was just going to be a simple build post with brief exposition – here’s the build, here’s what the chat meant by “sort your tray” – but as the explanation started to consume more of the post, I made the decision to split the build off into its own article. “Feel free to critique my build” seemed an open invitation. What I remember most vividly are the two Dispersal Patterns without any mines, and Torpedo: High Yield even though your fore torpedo wasn’t affected by it. Well, funnily enough, it was the first Ten Forward stream. What inspired you to start doing these build guide s? We sat down with Qthulhu to talk about the guides, and how STO looks through the eyes of a ship builder: Prelude to Ten Forward: A Ship Design Guide for New Players You can check out all of these articles right here: Watching those streams, and seeing Ambassador Kael explode himself on enemy torpedoes time and time again, Qthulhu knew he had to do something, and he created a series of incredibly helpful guides for new players. One such veteran player is Qthulhu, a regular member of our Reddit and Ten Forward Weekly stream communities. Our veteran players are known to spend much of their time helping new players, including a certain beleaguered Community Manager, get past their new player days and learn to be the kind of Captain we all want to be. That’s why we love the STO community so much. While the tutorials will teach you everything you need to know to play, there are systems and playstyles that the playerbase themselves have put together through seven years of mastering this game that can truly help you in those Elite queues, and these playstyles may not be something it’s easy to discover for themselves.
